3D Characters

Kent State University; Spring 2023

Instructor: Frankie Teuber

A mixed graduate and undergraduate course with an introduction to 3D character techniques.

Puppet

For our final project we were tasked with creating a puppet. I chose a traditional hand and rod style puppet.

Paint & Dye

Ohio University; Spring 2022

Instructor: Debi Jolly Holcomb

A graduate level course for fabric modification through dye, paint, and other techniques.

Screen Printing

For our final project we were required to modify 2 yards of fabric with painting and dye techniques. With permission I used a technique we had not covered in class - screen printing. The two major challenges to this project were the laying out of the repeat pattern and using multiple colors.

Ohio University; Spring 2022

Instructor: Thomas Fiocchi

A mixed graduate and undergraduate course with an introduction to prop-making techniques.

Weapon

Our first project was to create a hand-held weapon. I created two Westar-35 blaster pistols from the Star Wars franchise. One was created from EVA foam with wooden dowels for support and the other was 3D printed then painted.

Helmet

Another project was to create a helmet. I continued with Star Wars inspiration and created Bo-Katan's helmet from "The Mandalorian" season 2. This was another opportunity I took to experiment with 3D printing. The helmet was a free file I found on thingiverse.com that has since been removed. The helmet was printed in two main parts - the crown and the face - and the scope was also printed in multiple parts. The plastic filament used was a neon green and I painted over it with automotive spray paints.
