ABOUT Amy

In a few words, I am - a creative, an explorer, a costumer, a spouse, and a parent.

If you want more than a few words - keep reading!

I grew up doing children’s theatre in Arkansas and always assumed I’d go into acting. While getting my B.A. in theatre I quickly realized that technical theatre was my better skill set and preference. During my time as an undergraduate student, I was most often found in the makeup room or the costume shop. After graduation, I accepted a position to teach high school theatre part-time while also working part-time as the Assistant Costume Designer for my undergraduate program.

After a few years of doing both jobs, I stepped away from the stage and co-founded three new human beings. Being a stay-at-home parent was a joy but I missed creating costumes for the stage. So, with the encouragement of my husband, I returned to school to obtain my MFA and get back into the theatre world!

I’m an MFA Costume Design and Technology candidate at Kent State University, scheduled to graduate in Spring ‘25.
